CREEPY DIY STEAMPUNK DECOR FOR HALLOWEEN

Rusty hardware, broken jewelry and defunct technology make for creepy Halloween DIY skulls

If you really want freaky Halloween decorations, you have to try this DIY steampunk decor project. The idea is simple: Glue broken jewelry, buttons, discarded metal items, hardware, etc., to foam skulls and place them under glass or mount them to a candlestick. You can see these in a table scape here.

I really love using old flash bulbs, light bulbs and fuses for these DIY steampunk skulls. I thought the old wig pins through the buttons made for a creepy mouth.

What you’ll need:

Foam skulls of various sizes; you can also use doll heads

Epoxy (You can use other types of glue, but I think for this project, epoxy works best)

Items to decorate the skulls (screws, bolts, old hardware, broken jewelry, etc.)

Items to put the skulls under or on (I love using old anniversary clocks, old light fixtures and candelabras). You can often find things like these at estate sales. To find estate sales in your neighborhood, go to estatesales.net.
