Call me Nana Jana!

Making things with my hands has long been a source of solace and joy, whether my tools were a spatula and pan, a sewing machine or a glue gun. The kitchen and the craft room (and, yeah, OK, the grocery stores and the fabric stores!) are my happy places. And I’ve needed that sanctuary through three-plus decades as a journalist and media executive.

I find inspiration in travel and experiences, and my favorite places are small towns, where you feel a part of the community.

I hope this blog will inspire you to find your joy in making, cooking, entertaining your friends and family and enjoying the fun of small- town travel.

I called this blog Nana Jana in celebration of my roles as mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, friend, maker and plain ol’ me. At Nana Jana, you are part of a community of creative friends who are sharing the joy of home and hands.

Thank you so much for joining the Nana Jana family. Please sign up for my newsletter at [email protected] for more ideas and inspiration.
