3 EASY DIY NAPKIN RINGS FOR ANY THEME
Easy DIY napkin rings
Almost any material than can be shaped into an open circle can be turned into DIY napkin rings. Here are three ideas for easy DIY napkin rings.
1. DIY napkin rings from lace
What you’ll need
For napkin rings made from lace seam binding or vintage trim: You’ll need lace and thread. If you have a sewing machine, that’s great, but these can just as easily be stitched by hand.
How to make lace DIY napkin rings
Cut a piece of trim about 3 inches long. These don’t have to be exact – you just want to be sure they fit over your rolled-up napkins. Pin the trim together, wrong sides together, and stitch along the end – either on a sewing machine or by hand. Press the seam and turn right-side out. Ready for your napkins!
2. DIY napkin rings from old belts
What you’ll need
For belt napkin rings:
- Vintage leather belt
- Clear packing tape
- Hot glue gun
- Brown cotton seam binding
How to make vintage belt napkin rings
Before you cut your belt, wrap a bit of clear packing tape every 4 inches. This is to keep the braid from unraveling when you cut it.
Use hot glue to attach the ends of the belt together and then wrap a small piece of clear packing tape around it. Use brown cotton seam binding to cover up the seam.
