Crafty makes for a crafty party
Looking for ideas for a craft party? Try these three ideas.
Here’s an ideal Saturday afternoon — invite your craftiest friends over for a Crafternoon, a craft party where you can spend time with friends AND make something fun! (Click here to see our Crafternoon party)
And to get in the crafty spirit, here are three fun craft party DIY project that will elevate the handmade vibe.
VINTAGE RIBBON NAPKIN RINGS
This is so easy, it hardly counts as crafting — and yet it does! I took small pieces of vintage ribbon and trim and sewed them into rings. I cut the ribbon/trim about 3 inches long. I stitched the loose ends together (wrong side up), ironed them flat, then turned them right-side out. Perfect for sliding onto a stack of mixed vintage napkins.
CRAFTY BITCH FOOD PICKS
We call ourselves the Crafty Bitches, so these little toothpick flags were perfect for the party. I freeform cut little flags from scraps of pretty paper, wrote “Crafty bitches” on each one, and then glued them to a toothpick. The final touch was putting them in a tiny hand vase in the middle of the charcuterie plate.
HANDMADE HAND COCKTAIL PICKS
OK, so this is a little weird, and yet, it was my favorite of these three crafts. And, they also doubled as a party favor!
I bought a set of these stainless steel cocktail picks from Amazon, and some absolutely adorable small hands made by Archie McPhee. I glued a random assortment of beads to the cocktail picks and then glued the hand to the ball on top. NOTE: You have to find beads that have a big-enough hole to go over the pick.
I hope you and your friends have a happy Crafternoon!
